Dental – Florida Laws & Rules

The Florida Department of Health (FLDOH) has contracted with The Commission on Dental Competency Assessments (CDCA) to provide the Laws and Rules examination which is one of the requirements for Dental and Dental Hygiene licensure in the state of Florida.  The Laws and Rules examination is not part of the ADEX examination. It is an optional examination offered to any eligible Dental or Dental Hygiene professional that wishes to take the exam as part of the certification process to obtain a Dental License/Certificate in Florida.

Please note: The CDCA does not develop the content for the Florida Laws and Rules examination. If you have any questions about the exam and study material provided you must contact the Florida Department of Health directly.

Candidates have 90 minutes to complete the 67-item multiple-choice Dental exam. 

The exam may contain unidentified “pilot” or experimental questions to expand the bank of questions for future examinations. The final score will not include responses to pilot items.

The fee for this exam is $135.00.

Scoring Information

Each scored item is worth one point. A passing score is 75%.

Results are automatically forwarded to the CDCA-WREB for processing. CDCA-WREB will post results in 10 business days. CDCA will electronically forward test results to the Florida Department of Health.
